I got the same problem when using .png. Do you have a solution for that? I'm using Windows 7. Please email me a response as I don't see a way to subscribe to replies on this blog.

Barring an upgrade to Camtasia 7, the only solution is to save your images in a different format, add them to the clip bin and then to the timeline.
